Beat the heat with these summer horse treats

Summer has definitely hit our neck of the woods. If we are all barely able to stand the heat I can only imagine how our horses must feel this time of year. With that being said I wanted to share some treats that your horses might appreciate in this scorching weather.
Make-Cooling-Summer-Treats-for-Your-Horse
Make your horse tasty ice cubes using grains, raisins and even apple chunks. If your horse has never had ice cubes in their water before make sure you supervise them for their first try. (Do not over feed them ice treats - moderation is key in the heat)
Frozen-Carrot-Treats-for-Your-Horse
If your horse isn't into apples or raisins you can always try slicing up carrots and sticking them in the freezer. Your horse is sure to love this cold treat.

Make homemade mint popsicles. The mint helps to regulate temperature and will serve as a refreshing treat.
What special treat do you make your horses when its extra hot out? Post your recipes or suggestions on how to keep cool. We're always looking for new ideas.

Stay cool!

Equestrian inspired life hacks that will make your mom happy

May 10th is fast approaching and its that time of year again where we show our moms how much we love them.
Here is a a few equestrian inspired life hacks that will surely put a smile on your moms face.
1. Make her a boot rack for the barn. It's easy, inexpensive and it will make her happy to see everything organized. All you need is double sided Velcro and a little patience.

2. Make an eco-friendly food scooper... for FREE! Just get one of those milk jugs from the recycled trash and you can make one in no time. You could even personalize the outside with a marker.

3. Clean the barn, yes it can be hard... but doing it without having to be asked to do it is one of those things moms love to see. (not exactly a life hack... but we all know it needs to be done)

4. Does your moms favorite suede boots have stains? Gather up the emery boards and use them to gently file them down.

5. Pick up a pair of loofah gloves and give her tack a deep cleaning. (make sure the surface area isn't too smooth or else you will scratch it and we will both be in trouble)

Better get started! Mothers day is just around the corner!

Knock Offs Vs. Inspiration

Here at Lisa Nelle Show Clothing we take great pride in all of our designs and efforts to make our customers look glamorous in and out of the ring. So when we come across other "show clothing designers" that are clearly using our designs as their own, it really grinds our gears. It is one thing to be inspired by fellow designers and its another thing to blatantly copy someone else's work.

Here's a lesson to those copycats out there...

This is an example of inspiration. We saw an ad in the Equine Chronicle featuring a beautiful jacket by Showtime Show Clothing and immediately fell in love with the blue and green ombre tones. This is how we were inspired...

Now that you've seen what it looks like when a designer is inspired by another designer's work, we'd like to show you what a knock off looks like. We do not wish to promote the businesses that steal our designs so we will refrain from listing their company names.

We're flattered that these "designers" are so in love with our work. However when other companies steal our designs and claim them as their own it cheapens the whole idea of showmanship. Copycats are not designers, they're thieves, and to top it off we find many of these poorly made knock offs priced higher than our original designs.

As always we value your feedback and would like to know what you think about these copycat designers, comment below with your thoughts.

It's October!

If you haven't noticed already, Halloween is closely upon us. You can't go anywhere lately without seeing decorations and costumes. There seems to be a lot more pet costumes available for cats and dogs everywhere I go. So... I thought I would ask if any of our followers dress up there horses for fun or for a local parade.

We would LOVE to see pictures of previous costumes or ones you plan to use this year.

Here are some of our favorite ones we found online.

Enjoy :)

Which one is your favorite? Comment with your top pick or post your own pictures.
