Black Friday (Dun..dun..dun)

Black Friday is almost upon us and you know what that means...

Crowds, lines, and headaches.

Since we just had our final sale of the year and won't be participating we would like to offer tips on how to survive this years Black Friday.

1. Plan ahead! Make sure to have a list of stores and items on hand before tackling the day. There  is a lot of impulse buying when you don't have a list. Visit the store ahead of time so you know exactly where to go for the items that you want.

2. Take a buddy. Yes shopping alone could mean less stress for you, but having an extra pair of hands will definitely come in handy when you're searching for that one item that you or your loved one just can't live without. Plus they can help you carry all those hot deals you scored.

3. Be prepared. You would be surprised at how much time you'll save by bringing your own bags. Not only is it helpful to the environment but you wont have to worry about those flimsy plastic bags tearing on you.

4. Have cash available! Life happens. Sometimes the credit/debit machine will go on over load from all the crazy transactions and certain lines will be cash only. In my experience those will be the shortest lines you can be in.

5. Take a snack. If you plan to shop late at night to the wee hours of the morning, make sure you packed yourself a snack to keep your energy up.

6. Don't forget your gift receipt. There will be returns. Make it easier for the recipient to exchange your gift if its the wrong size/color without having to let them know how much it cost. (Grandma doesn't need to know you scored her that cashmere sweater at 60% off)

7. Be kind. The Black Friday sale comes directly after a holiday where we let everyone know how thankful we are for who and what we have in life. There are stories each year about how someone has been trampled or badly injured due to a Black Friday sale. No amount of savings if worth hurting someone for.

If you don't want to deal with all the shopping madness you can always participate in Cyber Monday where most of the deals you would get in store on Black Friday will also be available.

Hopefully these tips help! Be safe & Happy Holidays!

*Just a reminder: Our office will be closed on 11/26 and we will return on 12/1

Knock Offs Vs. Inspiration

Here at Lisa Nelle Show Clothing we take great pride in all of our designs and efforts to make our customers look glamorous in and out of the ring. So when we come across other "show clothing designers" that are clearly using our designs as their own, it really grinds our gears. It is one thing to be inspired by fellow designers and its another thing to blatantly copy someone else's work.

Here's a lesson to those copycats out there...

This is an example of inspiration. We saw an ad in the Equine Chronicle featuring a beautiful jacket by Showtime Show Clothing and immediately fell in love with the blue and green ombre tones. This is how we were inspired...

Now that you've seen what it looks like when a designer is inspired by another designer's work, we'd like to show you what a knock off looks like. We do not wish to promote the businesses that steal our designs so we will refrain from listing their company names.

We're flattered that these "designers" are so in love with our work. However when other companies steal our designs and claim them as their own it cheapens the whole idea of showmanship. Copycats are not designers, they're thieves, and to top it off we find many of these poorly made knock offs priced higher than our original designs.

As always we value your feedback and would like to know what you think about these copycat designers, comment below with your thoughts.

Too cute not to post

I found this poem online (I did not write it nor am I taking credit) and I wanted to share it with my readers.

Horses, they bring such joy,

Horses, they’re like oversized toys.

Horses, they make the world go ‘round,

Horses, they make the best sounds.

Horses, they hardly ever miss a beat,

Horses, they’re always so sweet.

Horses, they give us freedom in life,

Horses, they show us beauty and strife.

Horses, they’re the closest thing to perfection,

Horses, they’re full of action.

Horses, they’ll be a girl’s best friend,

Horses, they’ll be there til the end.

Sweet Dreams Are Made of This

Do you ever get a song stuck in your head and it just inspires you to do something?....Well that's what inspired me to create these two lovely jackets.
Our "Sweet Dreams" jacket will grant you unsurpassed style in the ring…and it is oh so flattering. This black based jacket has been hand embellished with a high end mix of Swarovski crystals, teal applique, screen printing and other high-end embellishments. We have used our signature base fabric. It’s comfortable, high end, washable and has a structured stretch that gives an incredibly flattering look.

The next dream inspired jacket is our "Living the Dream" jacket available for our plus sized clients Be the best dressed in any arena with this one-of-a-kind dream catcher design. A Sparkling Showstopper! We’ve started with our signature black base fabric…then screen-printed the most beautiful rainbow colored dream catcher design…then we covered this jacket in swirling clear Swarovski crystals….then we filled in the design with a sparkling, high end mix of Swarovski crystals, pearls and other elements. It’s comfortable, high end, washable and has a structured stretch that gives an incredibly flattering look. The best part about this jacket is the versatility; you can truly wear this jacket as a showmanship jacket or horsemanship shirt.
