Too cute not to post

I found this poem online (I did not write it nor am I taking credit) and I wanted to share it with my readers.

Horses, they bring such joy,

Horses, they’re like oversized toys.

Horses, they make the world go ‘round,

Horses, they make the best sounds.

Horses, they hardly ever miss a beat,

Horses, they’re always so sweet.

Horses, they give us freedom in life,

Horses, they show us beauty and strife.

Horses, they’re the closest thing to perfection,

Horses, they’re full of action.

Horses, they’ll be a girl’s best friend,

Horses, they’ll be there til the end.

Showmanship Do's & Don'ts

When picking out your showmanship outfit you need to follow these steps:

Get measured by a professional before ordering an outfit online. Sometimes when we try to measure ourselves the size ends up being inaccurate. You don’t want to order a showmanship suit with the wrong measurements and be stuck with something too big or too small with no time to alter.

Shop smart. I know there are a lot of companies that make showmanship clothing on the internet but that doesn’t mean that they should. Always check reviews, they can save you the heartache of ordering something that you might not ever see or be able to return.

Color Coordinate with your horse, you can’t be the only one that looks beautiful in the ring, make sure he/she has a matching saddle pad (don’t be too matchy!)

Be different! You don’t want to look like everyone else. Don’t be afraid to stand out and be noticed.

At Lisa Nelle Show Clothing we have many options for showmanship suits that will have you turning heads in and out of the ring.

Below is our latest suit for purchase.

This rich, jade based jacket has been embellished in an elegant mix of gold applique, screen-printing, Swarovski Crystals, pearls and other high-end elements. This jacket comes with matching jade pants.

The perfectly symmetrical design creates a professional and flattering silhouette. The side view of this jacket is unbelievable in person. Incredibly slimming and sophisticated.
The fabric we use is unique to our company. We have this specific material manufactured in a mill a few miles away from our Los Angeles location. It’s the perfect fabric, it’s going to blow you away. It combines elements from several super high-end fabrics. It’s a medium/heavy weight with a unique structured stretch. It feels amazing on.

Quick & Easy Tips to Prepare Yourself for a Horseshow

For western competitions such as Western pleasure or Western horsemanship, always wear an outfit that makes you and your horse stand out. When your saddle coordinates with your outfit it makes for lovely display that the judges will take notice of.

For a local show, a button up western shirt, nice show pants, boots, and a belt may be very acceptable. But for more competitive shows, everyone will be wearing more elaborate garments such as the horsemanship clothing we sell on our website.

  • If your budget will not allow you to make these purchases, as long as your outfit compliments yourself as well as your horse, then you have nothing to worry about.
  • Dark colors on light horses, and lighter colors on dark horses tend to draw more attention to them. You want to attract the right attention during the competition.
  • It's not recommended to wear an all-black outfit in the show ring. Most of your competition will also be wearing it and you will want to stand out among everyone else. A deep purple or midnight blue is a great alternative.
  • If you are confident in your skills and the skills of your horse, try drawing a bit of extra attention with a brightly colored shirt
  • You want to stand out from the rest of the competitors.
  • Always have your hair up, make sure to get all fly-aways before showing.
  • For more competitive shows, all hair should absolutely be under your helmet, or tight into a neat, tight bun in a hairnet at the back of your head, just barely below your hat or helmet.
  • Lastly; Have fun! Your horse feeds off your energy and if you are stressed then he/she will be too.
I hope these tips were helpful. We are always excited to hear feedback from our readers so leave us a comment if you enjoyed reading these tips. We would love to hear from you!
